Initial Type Rating – EMB 135/145 Legacy

Prepare to fly the Embraer 135/145 family with a comprehensive Initial Type Rating Course designed for professional pilots ready to transition into the regional jet environment. Conducted under EASA Part-FCL standards, this full-time course ensures operational proficiency on the EMB-135, EMB-145, and Legacy variants.
Course Overview
Our course is structured in three main phases:
- Theoretical Knowledge (78 hours)
- Aircraft Procedure Training (12 hours)
- Full Flight Simulator (FFS) Training (32 hours)
Concludes with the Type Rating Skill Test.
Phase 1: Ground School (Theoretical Knowledge)
Delivered in-class and supported by Web-Based Training (WBT), this phase covers:
- Comprehensive systems training (Powerplant, Electrical, Hydraulics, Ice Protection, etc.)
- Normal and Emergency Procedures
- Performance, Flight Planning, Load & Balance
- Dual FMS operations
- UPRT (Upset Prevention & Recovery Training)
- PBN (Performance Based Navigation)
- Differences Training between EMB135, EMB145, and Legacy variants
- Final theoretical exam (100 questions – 75% pass mark)
Training includes the use of CBT, UBF, V-Prep, and instructor-led sessions for maximum engagement.
Phase 2: Aircraft Procedure Training (APT)
3 sessions using Graphical Flight Simulator (GFS) or Fixed Base Simulator (FBS)
- Cockpit flows & familiarization
- Checklist usage in normal and abnormal scenarios
- Integrated SOP, FMS handling, and CRM exercises
Each session includes thorough briefings and debriefings.
Phase 3: Practical Full Flight Simulator (FFS) Training
8 FFS sessions (32 hours) conducted in an EASA-certified Level D Simulator, including:
- Systems-based scenarios (e.g., Electrical, Fuel, Fire, Flight Controls, Anti-Ice)
- LOFT (Line Oriented Flight Training) session
- Final Skill Test with a TRE/SFE
- Optional: ZFTT, LVTO, RHSQ, CAT II/IIIa, and Short/Narrow Runway Ops
Each FFS day includes 4 hours in the simulator + briefing & debriefing (total 6–8 hours per day).
Entry Requirements
As per EASA FCL.720.A:
- Valid CPL, MPL, or ATPL
- Valid EASA Class 1 Medical
- ICAO English Proficiency Level 4+
- If this is your First Type Rating:
- Multi-Engine IR(A)
- ATPL theory exams passed
- MCC Certificate (unless integrated)
- Advanced UPRT (FCL.745.A)
- Minimum 70 PIC hours in aeroplanes
Each FFS day includes 4 hours in the simulator + briefing & debriefing (total 6–8 hours per day).
